Jim Roils Wins Wrestling Title After toiling through a four-teen-mett schedule, the Greencastle 1-iigh Schoi? - . wrestling squad reached the climaxing event of the year, the 19G4 Sectional Wrestling meet. The meet was held at Crawfordsville last Saturday with Brazil, Brownsburg, Terre Haute Schulte and Lebanon joining Greencastle and Ciawfordsviile in the fight for the twelve championships at stake. Crawfordsville, a perennial state wrestling power, with thenlong established wrestling reputation on the line, finished with seven boys as champions of their respective weight division. Brazil picked up the 145 lb. and 180 lb. classes and Lebanon took the 120 lb. and 154 lb. classes. 1 he climax of the evening came when Greencastle High School sophomore Jim Rolls pinned Mason of Brownsburg for the heavyweight title. Jim, a modest, hard-working boy, pinned Hutson of Crawfordsville in the second round of the afternoon session to qualify for the finals. Winning is nothing new to Jim, even though this is his first year of varsity competition. During the season and with two sectional wins, Jim s record now stands at twelve wins and two loses. Coach, Jerry Chance, the faculty and the student body are all pulling for Jim to bring home a regional crown from Bloomington tins Saturday. There will be four regional sites with the four winners traveling to Indianapolis Southport for the finals on Saturday, February 22ud. Also making a good showing for Greencastle High School were Jim Simmerman at 127 pounds, Dan Lyon at 120 pounds, John Erdmann at 112 pounds, Fred Coan at 95 pounds. Vein Rader at 180 pounds and Dick Fletche.at 145 pounds. The sectional drew to a close the wrestling careeers of three Greencastle High School wrestlers. These boys will be greatly missed next year. They have been a real credit to the up and coming sport of wrestling and are true examples of fine leaders and good sports. These boys are Jim Kridler at 138 pounds, Ken Eitel at 154 pounds and Jim New at 165 pounds. These three hoys will be hard to replace.
