.Mrs, Georgia Suhlett Hostess to Dorcas Class The Putnamville Dorcas Class held their meeting with Mrs. Georgia Sublett. Jan. 21, 1964. The meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Louise Bridges with the gtoup singing, "Take Time to be Holy,” followed by the pledge to the Christian Flag. Devotions were given by Mrs. Ruby Stringer. "Happy Birthday was sung to Mrs. Madonna McCullough, Mrs. Ida Blue and Mrs. Bonnie Williams. The program was given by Mrs. Mayme McCullough. Entertainment was given by Mrs. Opal Scobee. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess to fourteen members.

Two Alabama Schools Closed A 100 per cent boycott by white students today closed Macon County High School •-1 Notasulga, Ala., ana a Demo threat shut down newly integrated Shorter High School a few miles away. About 75 elementary students showed up for classes at the three-story gray stucco Notasulga school, but the high school was closed when not a single white student arrived. Notasulga was rural Macon County's last all-white school.

Body Is Found

PERU UPI — The body of Mrs. Ethel Cook, 72. R.R. 1, Peru, who disappeared from her home Iciuary 4, was found Saturday in a field four miles from her home in Wabash County. A coroner's report said death was from natural causes and apparently occured the day she left home.

Market Robbed NEW CASTLE UPI — A Kroger supermarket was robbed of $7,700 Saturday night, and within an hour police arrested two men they identified as Robert E. Patrick and Billy Blackburn and recovered the loot. The men, one of whom was identified by persons in the store despite a stocking mask, were jailed on armed robbery charges. * i fipplj ysll

David Wesley Williams, Longview’s first baby of 1964, is shown with his mother, Mrs. Harry Lee Williams, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Longview, Texas. Wednesday morning, January 1. David Wesley was born at 4:39 a.m. January 1 and weighed six pounds, five and one-half ounces. The Williamses are from Kenton, Ohio, and have resided in Longview for the past three years while Harry Williams completes his major in machine technology at LeTourneau College.

EXPELLED FROM GHANA Prof. Robert B. Seidman, 43, and his wife, Ann. lectures at Ghana University (above) were two of five American teachers expelled from Ghana on charges of "subversive activities prejudicial to the State." Louis H. Schuster, 55, of Nashville, Tenn.. a Negro and professor in business management at the University, who was among the five expelled said that the explusions were part of the current anti-Ameri-can campaign in Ghana.

NEW WHITAKER FUNERAL HOME

The Whitaker Funeral Home has moved to their new heme at 602 East Washington Street. Since November 1953 they have occupied the McCurry building at 222 East Washington Street. In January of 1963 the Whitakers purchased the former Delta Zeta sorority house. During the past year they have completely remodeled the home to be able to provide one of the most convenient and comfortable funeral homes in this irea; including ample parking and access to the home from either Washington or Walnut Streets. An open house is planned for Sunday, February 16th.

MYSTERY KILLER HUNTED—San Diego, Calif . homicide detectives study the scene near the body of Mrs. Joyce Swindle, 19, after a mystery killer gunned down her and her husband, sailor Johnny Ray Swindle, 19, on a lonely stretch of beach. The victims were on their honeymoon and were taking a moonlight stroll when they were riddled with bullets. The couple had gone to school together in their home town of Jasper, Ala. Swindle was a Navy radioman stationed aboard the destroyer US3 Han-
