Twenty-nine new student teachers came to GHS Thursday to begin their practice teaching. Observing classes on their first day at the high school were students from DePauw University and Indiana State College.
G.H.S. has started the annual "March of Dimes.” In order to help crippled people, students were given envelopes in which they will put their contributions.

“First Aid for Air Crews,” was the title of the film that was shown to the health classes Tuesday morning, February 4. The film portrayed an airplane crash and illustrated the procedure to follow in treating all kinds of wounds.

i\eignborhood 2, District A of the Covered Bridge Girl Scout Council met on Monday, Feb. 3, 1964, at 7:30 p.m. in Gobin Methodist Chuxch Charterhouse, Greencastle, Indiana, with 30 members present. Mrs. Lindeman was present from Terre Haute. Lorraine Johnson, neighborhood chairman, presided. The following announcements were made: February 22 is Girl Scout "Thinking Day.” March is the month for our neighborhood to re-register. Day Camp will be held at Fern Cliff on June 1-5. Directors are Marilyn Clearwaters and Lois McGrannahan. Girl Scout Week, March 8-15. On Girl Scout Sunday, March 8, it was suggested that girls attend church in uniform. During this special week, window displays would be nice. Leaders were asked to contact store owners and make their own arrangements. Troop publicity should be sent to Mrs. William K. Blue. To close out Girl Scout Week, our neighborhood will celebrate with a birthday party on Sunday, March 15, in the National Guard Armory in Greencastle. A 11 troops are invited. Time: 2:30 to 4:30. Camp NaW”aKwa alumni should contact Chris Johnson about leading a songfest of camp songs. After the announcements, Lorraine Johnson asked for our consensus on two subjects regarding money-making projects as before. Alberta Kopps seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Kay Scholl then moved that we approve the suggestion by Council that any budget for trips be sent to the Finance Committee for approval. Wanda Patton seconded, and motion passed unanimously. Our neighborhod will have a trip to Spring Mill State Park
on Saturday, Aoril 18, leaving Greencastle (Junior High) at 8:00 a.m. and returning at 5:00 p.m. Trip is for Junior, Cadette and Senior Scouts. Cost is S2.10 for Juniors and $2.30 for the older girls and adults. Paid reservations must be given to Donna Eppleheimer or Lorraine Johnson by the next neighborhood meeting on April 6. Girls may dress in slacks and bring a sack lunch.
Cookie kits were handed out to 18 troops. Details were given by Donna Epplaheimer, chairman. Brownies are not allowed to sell cookies. Orders must be given to chairman by March 6. Cookies will go on sale April 3.
