"> h" Greencastle Ti.^er Cubs showed their claws to what appeared to be an over-rated Garfii Id team last night in an 84 to G7 victory. Garfield came in strong with a 10 win, 2 lost record. However, a slow first quarter had the Terre Haute team against the ropes as the Cubs grabbed an early 10-5. With the clrck showing 4:52 and Greencastle leading 15-6. Ron York scored a field goal to put the locals into a nine point lead. Garfield attempted to cut their defu . but four field goals brought the Cubs into the second quarter

a few months or possibly even a weeks time.

Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed . . .for there be more with us than with him.—II. Chron. 32:7.

A dinner for members of the Greencastle high school class of 1883 will be held at the home of Miss Sarah Bridges prior to commencement exercises for the class of 1933.

The forces of right on the side of the believer are always greater than those of the enemy; therefore he must proceed with strong courage.

Fast playing and a sharp 'hooting eye kept the Cubs into the lead as the Garfield Purple E.i 1c trailed in the mid-second quaiter 42-25. Garfield’s rebounding h;vl been mediocre. The ab- ;. r c of 6’6” James Kellet was notkible. The Purple Eagles’ trailed at halftime 53-36. Coach McCracken's team ran into trouble during the third quarter as the Garfield Five began to show some semblance of their reputation. The Cubs' shooting eyes seemed to dim as player after player sought the hoop. But although Garfield had im - proved somewhat, they too had net trouble. Several Garfield passes ended as stolen balls and the Cubs led 65-49 as the fourth quarter began. Greencastle led at the 6:15 mark by only 8 points as a determined Garfield string entered the action. However, it was Greencastle’s game and the Cubs meant to keep it that way. It was Greencastle by 18 points at the 2:20 mark as Ron Chadd fouled out. Garfield began a full court press while they searched for the magic combination to down the Cub Five. But the dam- : go had been done. The final buzzer ended the game with Greencastle the victor.

SAIGON UPI — Maj. Gen. Nguyen Khanb, Southeast Asia’s newest military strongman, has vowed he will lead South Viet Nam personally to victory over the Communists. The 36-year-old soldier who overthrew this country's military junta Thursday told a twohour news conference his seizure of power should be regarded as an “ internal purge” of the regime rather than a coup d’etat. “We have not had one shot fired, or any bloodshed at all,” he said. Khanh, who wore camouflagedyed para troop fatigues and black combat boots, indicated to a crowd of native and foreign newsmen that he may eventually assume the post of premier of South Viet Nam.

Waistline Key To Woman's Wear

PARIS UPI — To have a natural waistline or not is the question in the Paris fashion shows. Designer Jacques Griffe played it both ways today by putting women into "parachute straps.” Griffe kept to his usual slim, loose-ovaisted and uncluttered line. But he jumped into the current waist controversy by adding a variety of half - belts dangling in front, in back or crosing in front like straps parachute jumpers wear. Suits, both in daytime light wool and linen and late afternoon printed silks or evening lame, had loosely hanging halfbelts in back. On one checked wool the half - belt continued around to the front to become an inset “parachute strap” piece that crossed over the bosom in an “X” shape. Griffe used this same parachute strap design on a narrow, loose, and sleeveless navy wool

dress, and even on several straight coats. To avoid actually belting the waist at its natural spot, he also designed “hide and seek” belts. On a yellow nubby tweed jacket, a wide black leather half-belt in back vanished at the side but appeared in front with a huge buckle. Underneath the jacket was a slim bare-backed yellow halter dress. Some suit skirts were narrow and straight, others pleated. Griffe kept shoulders natural and suit jackets coilarless, or with narrow collars and lapels. Designer Phillippe Venet unveiled his spring line. His coats, usually his best-selling item, were straight. Some were narrow; others had more fullness so they could be worn over suits.
