Need Five More For Jury Duty JACKSON. Miss. UPI— Testimony is expected to begin late today following completion of a jury in the trial of Byron De La Beckwith, a white man charged with the ambush slaying of Negro leader Medgar Evers. Barring an unanticipated snag, the five jurors still needed to round out the 12-man jury for the trial are likely to be selected before the third day of the sensational murder trial is over. At 7:30 p. m. Tuesday, defense lawyers accepted seven of the 12 jurymen already picked

by the prosecution to hear the case of the Greenwood fertilizer salesman who is charged with shooting Evers in the back last June 12. The prosecution staff, headed by young Dist. Atty. William Waller, held a late conference Tuesday night, planning strategy for the trial and deciding on which of about 25 witnesses will be sent first to the stand in Hinds Circuit Court.

It’s a good recipe for beginner cooks to try. Made by the hatter method, you don’t have to knead it. The attractive checkerboard pattern is achieved by mixing whole wheat flour with half the hatter, then alternating dark and light batters as they're spooned into the loaf

pan. It’s wonderful hot — served with butter balls or spread with cheeses! CALICO BATTER BREAD (Makes 1 loaf) U/4 cups w arm water (105M15 # F.) 1 package or cake Fleischmann’s Yeast, active dry or compressed 2 tablespooas sugar 1 teasposm salt 2 tablespoons Fleischmann’a Margarine 215 cups unsifted flour Yi cup whole wheat flour Melted Fleischmann’i Margarine Measure warm water Into large warm mixing bowl. Sprinkle or crumble in Fleischmann’s Yeast; stir until dissolved. Add sugar, salt, Fleischmann’s Margarine and 2 cups white flour. Bert 2 minutes at medium speed on mixer or 300 strokes by hand. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl frequently. Pour half of hatter into a second bowl. With wooden spoon, stir remaining V2 cup of flour into half the batter;’ beat until smooth. To the remaining half of batter, syir in whole wheat Hour; beat until smooth. Cover both bowls; let rise In warm place, free from draft, nntil doubled in bulk, about 30 minutes. Stir each batter down by beating about 25 strokes. Spoon small amounts of light and dark ters alternately into greased 9x5* 3-inch bread pan to give marbled effect (Batter will be sticky.) Smooth out top of loaf by flouring hand and patting into shape. Cover; let rise in warm place, free from draft, until doubled in bulk, about 40 minute*. Bake in moderate oven (375* F.) 45-50 minutes, or until doc* Remove from pan and brush with melted Fleischraann’a Margarine.
