Recruiting News Sfc Marion Eveland, local Army Recruiter, announced this week Alvie R. Sl.rader, son of Mr. Jesse J. Shrader, R. R. 2 Cloverdale, enlisted Regular Army at Indianapolis on Jan. 24th. He formerly had been a member of the Greencastle, Indiana National Guard for l 1 - years. He returns to the Army
with rank of E-2, and doesn’t have to take basic again due to his prior service. Alvia attended Eelle Union School, and had been staying with his grandparents just prior to enlistment. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Whitt of Mount Meridan.

Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at Charterhouse and Wednesday at 8:00 p. m. in the home of Mrs. Roger Cox. The local issues to be reviewed by the resource committee are: written comprehensive plan, adequate school plant, adequate water facilities, school reorganization for Putnam County, and juvenile problems and court procedures. The emphasis of the program will be ‘written comprehensive plan,” an issue of concern to the League since 1956.' The goals and accomplishments of the League in respect to these items will be reviewed with a view toward the later selection of the League local program of study and action. Detailed maps of Greencastle’s utilities, school districts, zoning ordinances, master plan and proposed annexations will be used to clarify the information to be given. Members of the resource committee are Mrs. Charles Rector, Jr., chairman; Mrs. Ned Burkhardt; Mrs. Vernon Elmore; Mrs. Robert Hamontre; Mrs. John Ricketts; Mrs. Carl Strain; and Mrs. William McK. Wright.
