Putnamville WSCS Held Christmas Party The Putnamville WSCS held its annual Christmas meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Friend Saturday evening, Dec. 14th at 5:30. Husbands were guests of their wives on this occasion and there were eleven members and seven guests present. Our charming hosts had decorated their home beautifully in keeping u'ith the Yuletide season. The bountiful and delicious dinner was served buffet style with Mrs. Robert Harlan asking the Blessing. Each member had contributed a dish, or more, to the dinner and consequently a nice variety of foods w’as the result. However, the center of the meal was the turkey, purchased by the society, which had been expertly baked by our hostess. After dinner, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, we gathered in the living room for the gift exchange. The remainder of the evening was spent singing carols and in pleasant conversation. A glowing fire in the fireplace lent an atmosphere of warmth and cordiality w’hich, it seemed, w'as reflected in ex’eryone present,. All left at a late hour thanking our hosts for a lovely evening and wishing each

POPE PRAYS AT CHRIST’S TOMB Pope Paul VI prays at the tomb of Jesus Christ inside the Holy Sepulcher Church in Jerusalem, Jordan. An electrical short-cir-cuit of powerful television cables caused a fire and the lights of the church went out, but the Pope continued on with the Mass by candlelight.
