LAUDS TOLL ROAD INDIANAPOLIS UPI — Governor Welsh said today that when he took office in 1961, “the Indiana toll road w’as a gravy train” but that it now is under “a business-like management without political interference.” The statement by Welsh on the past and future of Indiana’s only toll route pointed out that $4 million in bonds were retired in 1963, bringing the total to SI2.8 million retired during the Welsh administration.
