Sunday School Teachers Will Attend Workshop In This City January 6-13 “Sunday Church School Teachers Workshop” has been planned by the Putnam County Council of Churches to be held in Charterhouse of Gobin Memorial Church, Greencastle, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, January 6 and Monday, January 13. All Sunday Church School teachers and their assistants and church leaders of the county are invited to attend. It is hoped that each church school in the county will have representatives in each of the six classes offered. Registrations should be sent to Glenn Skelton, chairman, R. R. 2, Reelsville, by December 31st. The faculty, according to Dr. Claude McClure, Executive Secretary of Putnam County Council of Churches, represent the best qualified state leaders five denominations have to offer. Rev. Chuuncy I*. Varner Rev. Cnancy J. Varner, Assistant Executive Secretary of the Indiana Council of Churches, will be the instructor for those interested in adult work. Following his college and seminary work, he became a minister in the Evangelical and United Brethren Church and held pastorates in Pennsylvania, before coming to his present position with the Indiana Council. The major part of his work with the council is helping to set up Leadership Training Schools in the counties of Indiana and providing excellent assistance in helping to work out programs of Christian Education in youth and adult summer camps. We are exceptionally fortunate in securing his leadership for the workshop.

Rev. Robert H. Hammond has served as director of Christian Education for the Indiana Baptist Convention since February, 1953. During this time he has given leadership to the program of Christian Education of the Convention. He will teach the class for those interested in Young Adult work. He has been instrumental in the development of the Tippecanoe Baptist Camp, and now in the projected development of Isaac McCoy Baptist Camp. Mr. Hammond is a native of New York State. He was graduated with honors from Houghton College. Houghton, N. Y. and graduated with the B.D. degree from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, Chicago, 111. In February, 1953, he moved to Indianapolis to serve with the Indiana Baptist Convention.

Two Retiring The retirement of two principal executives of Indiana Gas & Water Co., under the retirement policy of the company, was announced today by J. W. Heiney, president.

officer of Indiana Gas & Water Co. since its establishment in 1945. He is a graduate of Benjamin Harrison Law School, Indianapolis. William V. Bell, general sales manager, will assume Dopke's responsibilities. The position of board chairman will not be filled, according to Heiney.
Retiring December 31 are Herman G. Horstman, chairman of the board, and Fred W. Dopke, first vice president.

Miss Edna Lorraine Riggs Miss Edna Lorraine Riggs serves on the staff of the Board of Christian Education of the United Presbyterian Church U.S.A. as Associate Field Director for the Synod of Indiana. She is directly involved in providing guidance to the synod, its presbyteries, and its congregations in the training of Christian education committees, the selecting and preparing of leaders and strength ening the church school, camp, and conference program. She will be in charge of the class of teachers interested in Junior High Youth. Miss Riggs received her B.A. degree from Southwestern College, Winfield, Kansas and attended Garrett Biblical Institute, and Union Theological Seminary of Richmond, Va.

He has been Executive Secretary of the Conference Board of Education, and the Com mission of Camping in the Northwest Conference of the Methodist church since 1957. He has served on the staff or directed over 130 sessions of camps for vari o u s denomina-

Mrs, Kathryn W. Eccles will be in charge of teachers interested in Primary and Intermediate age groups (grades 3-61. Mrs. Eccles is a graduate of Hiram College and holds the master's degree from Indiana University. She has taught school in her native Ohio, and later served on the staff of Indiana University in the field of guidance and counseling. Mrs. Eccles has been active in the education program of Gobin Memorial Church, and for a number of years served as chairman of the Commission on Education of the church. For several years she has served as a church school teacher. During the past year she, together with her husband, Dr. Eccles, has been engaged in writing a unit of material for the new curriculum of the Methodist Church which will be adopted throughout the Methodist denomination in the fall of 1964. Miss Lois Blankenship, Director of Christian Education. First Christian Church, Greencastle, will direct the Pre-school and Kindergarten teachers. Miss Blankenship attended Phillips University in Enid, Okla., graduating in 1960 with an undergraduate degree in Religious Education, and w'as Director of Christian education for the Raytown Christian Church, Raytown, Missouri for two years. Currently she is a student in Christian Theological Seminary and is the Director of Christian
