Marionettes II. 1). flub Enjoyed Turkey Dinner Sixteen members of the Marionettes Home Demonstration Club were served turkey dinners at the DePauvv Student Union Building, Wednesday evening, Dec. 11 for their annual Christmas party. After the meal is was reported that Mrs. Larry Miller would not be able to continue as an officer and nominations were held. Initiation of new officers were made by the outgoing president, Mrs. Cedric Tharp. New officers are. president, Mrs. John Davies; vice president, Mrs. John Zeiner;

secretary, Mrs. Kenneth Phillips and treasurer, Mrs. Harold Chilcote. The program books were then passed out so lesson leaders and meeting places could be filled in. It was decided to continue hostess gifts and start a door prize again. Secret Sister gifts were exchanged and new ones were drawn after which Mrs. Max W'est passed out paper for games that were won by Mrs. Chilcote and Mrs. David Grimes, Jr. Mrs. West, Mrs. Tharp and Mrs. Norman Cox made the cen-

terpieces that were won by Mrs. Davies, Mrs. Phil’ips, Mrs. Cox, Mrs. Oscar Irving, Mrs. Ronald Clearwaters, Airs. Frank Decker, Mrs. James Mason and Mrs. Crawford Buis. DePauw's last pre-Christmas basketball game will pit the Tigers against Franklin College tonight at 8 p. m. in Bowman Gymnasium. After the tussle with the Grizzlies, current leaders in the Hoosier College Conference, DePauw will be idle until it opens ICC action here January 4 with Evansville's Aces. Franklin, though small, has had all five starters in double figures whi'e compiling a 4-2 record, including a 2-0 mark in the HCC. While DePauw has utilized at least 10 men in every one of its six games, Franklin has relied on its “Iron Men” who have played all season without a substition. For the Tigers, uncooperative 79-68 victims of a polished Miami (Oi. team Monday night, Coach Elmer McCall will start three seniors, a junior and a sophomore. Morgan Everson and Dean Rush, both averaging 11.16 in six tests, will go at forward; Bob Hutto, only starter under a 10-point average, will jump center; and senior guards will be Jim Callane and Bruce Osborne. Callane is hitting 19.8 and Osborne, who returns to the spot Mike Fehling occupied at Miami, is averaging 10.5.

Mrs. Bernard Handy, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lemmink and family are leaving Saturday for Florida for a few days. Members of the Greencastle High School basketball B team, and its two student managers, were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cooper Monday evening. Also attending the affair were Basketball Coach and Mrs. Dave McCracken. Ronnie M. Crowe, 21, Elm Street, was lodged in the Putnam County jail at 10 p.m. Wednesday by State Trooper John Danberry. Charges against Crowe are spending and failure to make a court appearance. He was taken into custody in Brazil by Danberry. Windy Hill Country Club announces its annual Christmas parties for the youngsters who have member parents. The parties will be held Saturday afternoon December 21st at the country club. Kindergarten through 2nd grade will celebrate from 1 p. m. to 2 p.m. Third grade through 5th will meet from 2:30 to 4. Each child is reminded to bring a twenty-five cent exchange gift.
