Novpii>l»t*r Min^ Is Held By BAR. The \V a s h b u r n Chapter. Daughters of the American Revolution, met on November lh with Mrs. Evan Crawley. An offering was taken and thirty dollars received to be sent as our annual Christmas gift to the D. A. R. Mountain schools. Dr. Winona Welch presented a display of gift items from the blind school. All of the items were made by the blind and give these people a chance to earn
and help themselves. One of the items of business was a public relations questionnaire which is being used all over the country in a poll of representative groups in various areas. The idea of Ihe questionnaire originated in Indiana with Mrs. Joseph Janowski, so Indiana was chosen to represent the midfile west in the poll. Members took copies of the questions to pass among their neighbors. The results of the opinion poll v ill be made public later and should

be of interest. Mrs. Alfred Jeffers nnd Mrs. Rmee Albright gave one of fir most delightful programs. The sub’ert was. “America S.ngs as It is: orv is Made.’’ Beginning with the popular music associated with our earliest beginnings in America, Mrs. Albright and Mrs. Jeffers alternated as historian and pianist. The group was invited «o participate and the singing of patriotic old and new favorites connected with fami1; historic events was greatly enjoyed. tic hostess was assisted by Mr; Rexel! Boyd and Mrs. Carl Hucke’berry in the social hour following the meeting. Indiana Central Downs DePauw EePamv lost its basketball ; are, Dfi-ST, to Indiana Central last night, but it looks as if coach Elmer McCall found a b ill club in the topsy-turvy battle. For most of the first 30 minutes the 600 fans who turned out for the Tigers' home opener could have spent their time at the pop machine in the lobby. About the only spectacular action in the 57-45 first half show was Central s .540 shooting. \\ hen the second half opened McCall jerked three starters and put in sophomores Morgan Everson and Stan Bahler and junior Mike Fehling. The adjustment didn’t pay instant dividends but most new’ combinations don't at first. Finally. with the score 74-59, Central, with 11:27 to play, DePauw’s sputtering offense ignited and its defense caught the spai k too. Nine minutes later after the re-insertion of regular guard Bruce Osborne for Fehling, the Tigers knotted the count at 85all on Everson's pair of free throws. Central went onto win, however, 92-S7.

Brazil Defeated By Greencastle The Tiger Cubs defeated archrival Brazil, 75 to 55, last night to chalk up their third straight win of the basketball season. It was also a Western Indiana Conference victory for Coach Dave McCracken’s net tossers. Playing at Brazil, the Cubs jumped into a 17 to 9 advantage as the first quarter ended and were never headed. A balanced offensive attack and scrappy defense helped the Greencastle cause. The Cubs showed poise and handled the ball well. Ron Blotch. Ron York. Phil Cooper and Rick Kchrer paced the winning Cubs. Dunbar was outstanding for
Brazil.
This coming Saturday night, the Cubs invade Martinsville.
