A wary eye on the so-called "law of averages,” DePauw goes to work tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. (CDT) in Blackstock Stadium to do what it can to extend its eight-year domination of Wabash. A couple incentives the Tigers have, include recording their third straight winning season (all 5-4) and retention of the fabled Monon Bell, which celebrates its 31st anniversary this fall. DePauw enters the 71st tilt between the two teams with a 4-4-0 record, riding the crest of two impressive wins over Indiana State and Valparaiso. Wabash has won four, lost three and tied one. Last Saturday the Little Giants, using reserves most of the last half, stomped Heidelberg(O.) 28-7. As for the law of averages, nothing resembles DePauw’s current string ever has occured in the fantastic 73-year history of the rivalary. Wabash won the 1921 game B. B. (before bell) and ran up a seven-game streak that ended in 1928, 20-12. The Cavemen nearly matched their roaring twenties t^at with a six-game streak from 1949-54.
