The children of Mr. and Mrs. Leo B. Reeves are giving a reception on Sunday, October 20 from two until four to celebrate th^ir parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. It is to be held at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Janies P. Wood, 407 Elm Street in Greencastle. The couple was married October 19, 1913 in Moultrie County. Illinois. They now reside in Putnam County, Rural Route 4. Greencastle. They have eight children, Omer ami Doris of Greencastle, Murl of Clarksville, Audrey of Coatesvi'le. Marilyn of Washington, D. C., Gladys of New Mexico. Howard of Carbon, Bruce of California, and 21 grandchildren. All friends, relatives and neighbors are cordially invited.

Yanks Will Test Russ Intentions BERLIN UPI — More U. S. Army convoys are expected to be sent along Berlin's highway link with West Germany in the next few days to test Soviet intentions, Allied officials said today. The Soviets blockaded a 61 - man convoy for 52 hours last week in a dispute over the way the GIs should be counted by Soviet checkpoint personnel. Monday, however, a convoy sped through to West Germany with no delays. The difference w r as in the size of the convoys. Monday’s w a s large—141 men in 26 trucks Under unwritten agreement with the Soviets, the United States permits its men to dismount and be counted when the convoy is of this size. The Army says this is done voluntarily to speed up the control process. It does not concede a Soviet right to order the troops to dismount.

Important meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Murphy. Greencastle Route 2. are the parents of a daughter born Monday at the Putnam County Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Delmar C. Lowe, 28 Jackson Boulevard. became the parents of a daughter Saturday at the Putnam County Hospital. The Mothers Sendee club will nvet this evening at 7:30 with Helen Moore, Alamo Apts. Mrs. \nna Jarvis will be co-hostess. Mrs. Guy Wright entertained at six o'clock dinner Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Marc Padgett. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Laymen and Miss Rox Ann Laymon of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Bessie Boswell of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hardman were at Fort Knox, Kentucky, last weekend for the graduation of their son, Ronnie Hardman from basic training in radio and television news. He is now stationed at Camp Jackson, South Carolina. Greencastle ladies from St. Paul's Parish that attended the Terre Haute Deanery of the Indianapolis Council of Catholic Women held in Terre Haute, Sunday Oct. 13 at 1:30 p.m. at St. I^eonards Parish were, Mrs. John Reiling, Mrs. Albert Rolls and Mrs. Dominic Romalia and Mrs. Frank E. Byrne. Terre Haute N.C.C.W. President conducted the business meeting. Rev. Father George Powers, pastor of St. Leonards Parish spoke on “What the Catholic church must do today.”

Ask Clarification Of ‘The Last Rife’ VATICAN CITY UPI — Ecumenical Council fathers were asked today to clear up an ancient and widespread misunderstanding about the sacrament which a priest performs when he anoints a sick person with oil. Many laymen and some priests call the sacrament, "The Last Rite” and are under the impression that it should be administered only to those who are dying or in grave danger of death. This erroneous belief is fostered by the official name which the sacrament has borne for man centuries: "Extreme Unction.’’

Heart Attack Fatal GREENFIELD UPI — Fred Manifold, 60, a Pendleton area farmer, died Monday when he suffered a heart attack or stroke at the wheel of his truck loaded with soybeans. Hancock County Coroner George Pasco said Manifold was dead before his truck left Indiana 9 six miles north of here.

VICTORY REPORTED ALGIERS UPI — The Algerian government said today Algerian forces have driven Moroccan troops from two disputed Sahara outposts in a two-day battle. A bulletin, broadcast at 1 p.m. 9 a.m. EDT by the govern-ment-controlled Algiers Radio, said: "Troops of the Algerian National and Popular Army ANP have cleared out the Hassi Beida and Tinjoub sectors.”

SHS Seniors To Present Plays On October 18. 1963. the Stilesville High School Senior Class will present two one-act plays in the high srhool gymanisum at 7:30 p.m. “If Boys Wore Skirts" is a one act farce with a glimpse at the possible future. The cast for this play includes Cindy Richmond. Deedee Keller, Jimmy Cooper, Louis Faletic, Mildred Spear, Phyllis Farthing, Paul Vaughn, Wayne West, Nancy Little. Marian Wishmire, Merlin Martin, Randy Bumgardner, Roy Shafer, and Sam Hutchins. The second play. ‘‘Quiet Home Wedding!” is also a one act farce displaying a typical home wedding. The characters are Darrell Barrow, Phyllis Farthing, Randy Smith, Barbara Arnold, Kristie Ray, Beverly Hampton. Jo Ann Couch, Marian Wishmire, Randy Bumgardner, Nancy Little and Sam Hutchins. Talent will be provided between plays by Barbara Arnold. Play sponors are I. E. Lewis, and Mrs. V. R Beich.

C HAPEL SPEAKER Dr. William J. Petrek, a member of DePauw University’s philosophy and religion department, will address tomorrow morning’s chapel in Gobin Church. His topic will be ‘‘7%.'' Dr. Petrek is a former department of philosophy head at Holy Cross Seminary and for three years was visiting professor in modern and contemporary philosophy at Viterbo College.
