Remodeled and new study rooms should be occupied within three weeks. As a result of the fire that damaged the Sigma Nu house last spring there have been many new changes made to the physical plant of the house. A new kitchen has been added to the house on the northeast corner with completely new study rooms above it on the second floor. In the old part of the second floor the study rooms have been made into two-man suites and the third floor has been converted into additional study rooms and the sleeping dorm. Russ Wheat Sale Accorded Backing WASHINGTON UPI — President Kenedy's politically explosive approval of a “one shot’’ $250 million U. S. wheat sale to Russia won a measure of bipartisan backing today in Congress. But some Republicans, including House GOP Leader Charles A. Ha Heck of Indiana, questioned the wisdom, of the move ananounced by the President at his news conference Wednesday. Sen. Barry M. Goldwater, R-Ariz., had urged that the sale by made conditional on withdrawal of Soviet troops and military equipment from Cuba. Kennedy said the sale of 4 million tons about 150 million bushels of surplus U. S. wheat — the largest S o v i e t-American transaction since the multi-billion -dollar lend-lease deals of World War II—was a “hopeful sign" that progress toward peace is possible. He promised a special report to Congress on the matter today.

Back to their farm home to enjoy the fresh apple cider the non riders made while we were away.. then games on horseback with ribbons and a trophy, which was a hand tooled leather picture, won by Phil Jordon. Lucy May claimed the trophy because he was riding her horse which turned a barrel to closely and shu came out with a bad knee and wasn’t able to compete. It's in the family anyway. The fifth Sunday was the Carey’s Ranch Rodeo south of Indianapolis. As usual the weather was cold and miserable though it had been perfect the day before and following. October 6, an invitation from the Route Forty Club for a basket dinner and fun show at the Williams Quarter Horse Farm. More than 200 persons came, several bringing horses. Trophies were won by Pamela Patton in the under sixteen age group and Phil Jordon in the adult.
