Howard L. Hutson, 27. who escaped from the Clay’ County jail in Brazil several days ago, was picked up by Kansas City’, Mo., police Tuesday. Hutson is wanted in Brazil on a second degree burglary charge.

A trash and woods fire resulted in city firemen being called to Windy Hill Country Club, on Ind. 43 north, at 3:38 Wednesday afternoon, Water from the truck's booster tank extinguished the blaze and no damage was reported.

Recipe of the Week: TAFFY APPLES

Melt 1 c. granulated sugar in heavy pan, slowly add 1 c. boiling water, rook to smooth syrup. In separate pan eombine 1 c. granulated sugar. 2 e. brown sugar, 1 c. cream, 4 T. butter, cook to 236 or soft ball stage. Combine two syrups, cook to 250 . Cool to lukewarm. Place aoples on wooden skewers and twirl in syrup, then dip in ice water to harden. Will make 12 dandy Hallowe’en treats for small goblin.-.
