Door prize was won by Helen Sinclair. The meeting was called to order by our president, Mrs. Doris Salsman. We began with Mrs. Olga Snyder leading us in singing the song of the month “I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen,” and then repeating the pledge to the flag and the club creed together. Roll call was answered by “What I enjoyed most at the Fair.” Since we had no planned lesson this month, Helen Sinclair and Olga Snyder. Craft Club members, showed us two crafts we might enjoy making at home sometime in our spare time. Helen began by showing us the Tin-Can craft. She showed and explained how to make wall placques, Christmas tree ornaments, and small bells from different size cans. It was very interesting. Next Olga showed us the lovely smocked aprons she was making for Christmas gifts. She then told us the amount of ipaterial and trimming needed for each apron and showed us how to do some of the stitches. They were very lovely and useful as well. It would be a gift worth receiving. The Secretary's report was then read by Mrs. Donna Frye and Treasurer's report by Mrs. Lola Calsman. Both were accepted. Helen Sinclair then reported on the Council meeting. After some discussion concerning the changing of our meeting time during the winter months, we decided to start them one-half hour earlier during the school months. We will start them at 12:30 instead of 1:00. Nominations were then made and accepted for next year's officers. They are as follows; President, Mrs. Wayne Sinclair; Vice President, Mrs. Robert Frye; Secretary, Mrs. Kenneth Salsman; Treasurer, Mrs. E. R. Snyder; News Reporter, Mrs. Lulu Foster; Song Leader, Mrs. Jack Swope; Safety Leader, Mrs. Doris Salsman; Outlook, Mrs. Charlie Wise; Garden, Mrs. Fredrick Sheppard; Citizenship, Mrs. Vernie Chastain. Achievement day was then discussed. Since w'e didn’t know the cost of the dinner yet, the ones wishing to go, gave their names to the President and she will take care of the reservations. The meeting was concluded by repeating the club prayer in unison. Delicious refreshments were then served by our hostess and co-hostess to eighteen members and several small children who enjoyed them very much. Secret Sister gifts were then passed to the lucky recipients. Next month we are to meet with Mrs. Vernie Chastain at 12:30, Oct. 10th. ,and members are to mask or pay a one dollar fine. Hope to see everyone there.

QMfj DIAMOND
Only a jewel of rare loveliness will do. May we suggest one such jewel: the oval diamond created by Lazare Kaplan & Sons. The oval, perfect shape of beauty has been translated into a diamond of grace end fire — a diamond which looks far larger than a conventional round diamond of the very same carat weight.
