Tiger Cubs Win Over Van Buren The determined Greencaslle Harriers brought home a victory from Van Buren September 10, with a score of Greencastle 24, Van Buren 32. This is the first Cross Country Meet in 8 years that the Cubs hive beaten Van b .ren. This makes the record 1-0. Van Buren’s Black, one of the best runners in the area, was beaten tv Ron Chadd who ran the l 7 s mile course in 9 minutes and
31 seconds.

Indiana Budget Committee Meets PENDLETON UPI — The Indiana Budget Committee met today at the State Reformatory here for an inspection trip and a monthly session at which action is scheduled on numerous construction requests. The major expenditures proposed and most likely to be approved are those involving the applicant’s own funds. Indiana University seeks to spend $3.2 million of its own earnings and fees to construct the Kokomo campus of IU. IU also seeks to spend $2.3 million of its own funds to construct a university student health center. The Department of Conservation has asked authority to spend $33,000 in cigarette tax money for a service and storage building at Lincoln State Park, and $14,273 for rehabilitation of several fish and game areas. The Indiana Youth Center seeks $70,000 of $2 million appropriated in 1963 for the new intermediate institute to be located near Plainfield. The money is for architectural and engineering services for the second phase of the center. Work is to begin soon on the first phase.

Ronald Shannon, 20, Roachdale, was in the Putnam County jail Thursday morning f iring a fraudulent cheek charge. He was taken into custody in Terre Haute Wednesday night by Sheriff Kenneth Knauer and Deputy Paul Mason. ■Charles Richard Bieber was awarded the Master of Science degree >in Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa at the recent summer convocation.
