Shetrone softball team won over the Jaycees again last evening. Friday evening they journey to Shelbyville to play in the 7:30 game. It promises to be an exciting game. The family of Ora D. Day invite friends and relatives to attend an open house at Mr. Day’s home in Fillmore, on Sunday, August 25th from 3 to 6 p.m. to celebrate his 90th birthday. Another cool morning was experienced by Greencastle residents Thursday when the temperature dropped to a low' of 47 degrees. This was three degrees cooler than Wednesday when The Daily Banner thermometer registered a lew of 50.

Meeting Is Held By Club Council The Home Demonstation Club Council held its third meeting at the Community Building on the Putnam County Fair Grounds on Monday, August 12, at 1:00 p. m. Mrs. Robert Stallcop, county chairman, presided. Forty-six representatives from the thirty-one clubs responded to roll call by reporting the number of individual members attending Summer Conference. Fifty-six club members were reported as attending. Routine business matters consisted of the treasurer’s report, committee reports, and an-

nouncements.

The deadline for the Essay, Song and Poetry contests was

announced as August 15.

The fifty year commoration booklet entitled Fifty Years of Learning and Service wav presented to the Council, as was the souvenir plate. Individual members may order these by

contacting Mrs. Stallcop.

The Council decided to give the club in charge of the adult exhibits credit for making an

exhibit on their club

Mrs. Stallcop reported that Mrs. Harold Alcorn of Bainbridge was winner of the Young Homemaker's Style Show would represent Putnam County in the State Fair Style Show which will be held in the Women’s Building at 3:00 p. m. on Sun-

day, September 1.

The annual Home Demonstration Club Achievement day observance was announced for October 16. Mrs. Kenneth Scott of Muncie, Indiana's representative to the Associated Country Women of the World, will be the speaker of the day.
