Kouts, LakeEliza and Hebron in Porter County, southeast through Winamac in Pulaski County. and south to Camden in Carroll Coun-

Repair crews blocked off dozers of streets in Valparaiso in order to clear away debris and repair downed power lines. A girl and a young woman were missing after leaving a drive-in theater just before the storm hit. A twister touched do'vn in the heart of Valparaiso, ripped the roof off a factory and knocked down three walls of a supermarket. Near Lake Eliza, a huge oak tree demolished a trailer home, but the 70-year-old occupant was not injured. Near Burrows. Ind , a bolt of lightning knocked a farmer from his tractor, and he was hospitalized in fair condition. Lightning started a number of fires in Richmond, Ind. Civil defense volunteers w r ere called out in Richmond after the storm blew out windows in two banks, a soft prink plant and department . stores.

Sachs could have been fined or suspended for his conduct, but the USAC executive committee at a closed meeting with him Monday let him off with one year's probation. USAC said its ruling meant Sachs could still race during the probation try period but could make no remarks w-hich might reflect on the intergrity of USAC officials.
