Woman’s Progress Club Ol Roachdale Meets Alembers of Woman’s Progress | Club met at the home of M; s. Pat. 1 Worick, Dec. 18 for their Christmas program. Decorations in keeping with the season were lovely including a tree with gifts. The meeting was opened by the president with the verse of the month. “God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.” The devotional program intitled “Windows" was a reading interspersed with Christmas carols given by Airs. Evelyn Beck and Mrs. Ellen Purcell. Response to roll call was apswered with various subjects pertaining to the season. A letter was read from a member. Airs. Glenna Grindol, now in Alpine Texas in which she described the locality thf»re. Alpine is called the Roof Garden of Texans and is a country of surprises. Miss Essie Summers read an original Christmas card letter from a friend in Florida which was interesting. Mrs Eller Purcell gave a report on the entertainment for veterans at West 20th St. hospital Indianapolis given by the junior choir and some specials. The project was sponsored by the club. Mrs. Purcell is leader of the choir. She announced a Christmas program •‘To Pass the Plate of Happiness’ to the shut-ins at Roachdale The Junior Choir will distribute the plates filled with cookies candy etc. The hostess. Mrs Worick assisted by Mrs. Purcell served delicious refreshments. Next meeting Jan. 14th at home of Mrs. June Gamer, 7 p m. Members are asked to bring a box lunch for sale. We are sorry some of the members were not present on account of illness. Ali members are urged to be present at the Jan meeting for election of officer's.
