Mr. and Mrs. George Sutherlin were in Terre Haute visiting relatives Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Heber and sons of Dearborn, Mich., and Mrs. Marion Heber of Syracuse, N. Y., left for home Monday morning after a pleasant week end with Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Stoner and other relatives. The last of the homegrown watermelons will be gone at the Ernest Heber farm this week. He sure has had a wonderful crop. A large crowd from Roachdale attended the big chicken barbecu.? at the Putnam County Fair grounds Saturday night. Lt was estimated that more than twelve hundred people attended the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Will Lawler and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lawler of Milo. Iowa, spent Thursday and Friday in Kentucky and Tennessee and visited the Giant Onyx cave in Ken-

Last Sunday afternoon several witnessed the presentation of the fifty year Masonic pin to Edward Crosby at his home here. Last week Mr. and Mrs. Crosby quietly observed their 69th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Crosby of Greencastle were dinner guests Friday evening of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Call. Several from here attended the antique sale of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Steele at Brownsburg Saturday. A very large crowd attended the reception Sunday evening at the Christian Church for the new minister, the Rev. and Mrs. Timothy Kribs.
