Administration’s Decision Personal, Corporate Slash On Tax Cut by April 15? i May Total Seven Billions By HENRY CATHCART Central Press Washington Writer TETASHINGTON—The Eisenhtnver administration’s decision on >Y an anti-recession tax cut, covering all aspects of the issue, is expected to be made about April 15. By that time, the March unemployment figures will have been analyzed; industry statistics will show how much of a spring upturn has materialized, and the government revenue outlook for the rest of the fiscal year will be fairly clear. Some Republicans, notably Senate Majority Leader William F. Knowland of California, 4\ant to delay the decision until June, or later. However, key congressional Democrats are pressing for fast action and administration strategists are said to agree that a delay of any length would be politically unwise. If President Eisenhower Hashes a green light for tax relief, it probably will be in the form of a bill cutting both personal and corporate income levies by a total of some $7 billion.

Peter Townsend disappeared today in an apparent effort to avoid further embai rassment to Queen Elizabeth II who called Princess Margaret on the carpet Sunday for reviving the royal romance. • SUMMIT TROUBLES—Foreign policy experts in Congress ate hopping mad that the administiation let Russia get the psychological edge in moves to set up international control of outer space. The proposal to presene outer space for peace was originally put fonvard by President Eisenhower. The chief executive told Soviet Premier Nikolai Bulganin in reply to one of Bulganin’s many requests for a summit meeting that outer space control should be one of the subjects at such a toplevel East-West parley. The matter was dropped for several months, but then Russia dramatically announced it would go along with a space control agency within the framework of the United Nations providing the United States would scrap plans to set up missile bases in NATO

countries.

This was patently unacceptable to the United States, of course, since the missile network is counted on as the bulwark against Communist aggression. However, it admittedly has appeal to the many independent, or uncommitted nations who

are enthusiastic about any move that ostensibly furthers the cause

of peace.

Senate Democratic Leader Lyndon Johnson and Senator Mike Mansfield (Di, Montana, a member of the foreign relations committee. sharply criticized the State department for allowing Russia to take the initiative away from the United States. They said America should have first expressed a willingness to allow a UN agency to control space exploration, instead of letting Russia seize
