Jess Webb and family moved into the Jim Mandleco house this week. Mrs. James Carroll and children spent Friday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Clodfelter. On Friday night Mr. and Mrs. Gene Clodfelter and daughter and Sara and Nancy Borden visited the Clodfelters. Nancy Hamm has the mumpe. Ralph Cross and Rueben Smith . are each quite ill. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilson i held open house Sunday afternoon in honor of their 50th wadding anniversary and the 12th anniversary of their daughter Edith and Charles Royal. All of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson’s chil- | dren were present for the day. Mr. and Mrs. Ellington and | family arrived Saturday from Arizona to be with her parents for the occasion. Stf. Sgt. Garry R-oehen and family who have just recently returned to the U. S. after spending several months in the Azores, spent Thursday with Mrs. Mona Shumaker. They were on their way to a base in Little Rock, Ark. Mrs. Rochen was a grandniece of Mrs. Shumaker. Among the many callers on Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Baird and family on Sunday were Mr. Elmer Watson and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Tustison of near Indianapolis. Buddy Boiler has been very sick with flu this week.

Will Hold Public Hearings At Gary WASHINGTON (UP> — The House Committee on Un-Ameri-can Activities announced today it will hold public hearings at i Gary. OBITUARY’ Floy Lee Turner, son of Charles and Nannie Turner, was born on March 7th, 1894 and departed this life on January 20th, 1958, at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 13 days. He was bom in Putnam County and spent his boyhood days in the vicinity of Belle Union. He u r as united in marriage on November nth, 1914 to Lennie Terry. To this union were born four children, Mae Terry, Eddie, Marjorie Harris and Betty Haltom, all of whom are living. He moved to Cloverda.le about 35 years ago, and had lived here ever since. He worked for the Monon Railroad for 12 years, and for the Lone Star Cement Company at ' Greencastle for about 11 years. Besides the wife and the four children, he leaves five grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Della Terry of Greencastle, and a host of friends and neighbors. Floy was always happy to have the children and grandchildren to come and visit with him and his wife in their home. “Sunset and Evening Star And one clear call for me. An Owen Cihcuit Court jury convicted the brothers on testimony in the state’s case that the Dickersons high-pressured Mrs. Stephen Stone into having an emergency repair job done, then overcharged her for the work they did.
