cellent preparations on the mar* ket that come in both powder and liquid form. The new parasiticides such as D.D.T., chlor* dane and Lindane are preferred. For fleas they’re usually mixed with other ingredients in powder or liquid form and act as a residual flea-control agent Be sure to prevent the development of fleas around the house and yard by using these same parasiticides in the nest box, doghouse or yard. If the dog is allowed to associate with other dogs or to have the run of the neighborhood, he will probably pick up a new supply of fleas. So deflea the pooch anytime he needs it. Flea eggs develop into fleas more rapidly during warm weather. This accounts for the greater flea problem during summertifne. If you have any doubt about the right flea-control approach, call your veterinarian. * • * Feeding Tip: A puppy’s food requirements increase rapidly. Be sure to increase the food supply as he grows. He may double his food intake in merely a week's time.
