PSCI’S NEW ALBANY GENERATING STATION
HERE COMES STILL
FOR
INDIANA
# Next year, our new est electric generating station, now under construction on the Ohio River at New Albany, will provide an additional 300,000 kilowatts of electricity for those we serve. By I960, another 300,000 kilowatts will be added, bringing our total system generating capability to over a million and a half kilowatts! We’re making sure ample electric power is always available when needed throughout our
service area.
The modern New’ Albany plant, including its related high-voltage transmission lines and substation facilities, is a major part of our current, carefully-planned $160,000,000 expansion and development program to keep Indiana electrically “POWER-FULL.”

Fillmore Folks On Florida Trip Mr. and Mrs. Ira Nichols of Fillmore are on a Florida vacation trip in Jasper. Florida. They left Fillmore about nine o’clock Monday morning and reached Jasper late Tuesday. They suf- j fered onfy a wry neck and from j their eyes, a tired back and upset stomachs. They reported two ! frogs on the front porch of their new home when they arrived and a full band just outside their back window. They were singing “Dixie.” Mr. and Mrs. Nichols spent their first night at Manchester, Tenn., but left before five A. M. Tuesday, driving with their lights
I on until they had breakfast on a mountain which Mr. Nichols said was four miles up and eight miles down. The mountains w’ere all covered with a dense green foliage that made a beautiful sight at sunrise. The crops all the w’ay to Floriday are not too good. In many places they are burned up from the heat and lack of rainfall and the late planted crops are full of weeds and grass. Mr. and Mrs. Nichols expect to be gone about two weeks.
