IN MEMORY In loving memory of my husband. Johnie E. Ogles, who passed away May 30. 1955. I seem to see in the soft dim
light,
A face I love the best; And think of you when the sun’s last ray, Goes down in the far off west. I miss you no less as the time passes on, Than I did on the day of your
going;
For absence can never close the door of my heart, And the lamp of my love is still glowing. Your heart was the truest in all the wide world, Your love the best to recall; For no one on earth can take your place, You are still the dearest of all. Missed so very much by wife,
Edna.

NEWS FOR HOMEMAKERS By .Mildred Cassady Your Home Agent On the extension calendar for next week is a training meeting j for home demonstration club exj hibit committees. Professor W. F. Graham of Purdue will present a demonstration and discussion on how to plan and set up a good educational exhibit. He is a recognized authority in this field and has been in Putnam County on several previous occasions. Mrs. Edmond Torr is the county exhibit committee chairman this year and with the help of her committee will supervise the exhibits which will be set up in the women’s building at the Putnam County Fairgrounds during the county fair. Other members of .her committee are Mrs. Myron McCammack, Mrs. Faye Weaver, Mrs. Charles Kerr, Mrs. Eugene McFarland, Mrs. Verlin Cash, Mrs. Robert Thomas and Mrs. Ruth Fry. Food News Whether it’s a family picnic or community gathering, barbecued chicken is an ideal choice for outdoor meals. Prices of barbecuing chickens are attractive and supplies good. Chickens for barbecuing should be young, tender and meaty. Two to two-and-a-half pound birds, dressed weight, are best. They should be cut in half for cooking and are usually served in halves. Plan at least one half chicken per person. A minimum of equipment is needed to barbecue chickens. Grills may be purchased or made at home, according to the wishes of the family. A 55 gallon drum, cut in two lengthwise and placed on legs, makes a highly satisfactory grill, but temporary pits can be made from bricks or concrete blocks and a rack from the kitchen range. Hardwood charcoal in the form of briquets is the most satisfactory fuel for barbecuing chickens. Plan to use about a pound of fuel per bird. Allow 15 to 20
