Mrs. Mary’ Mitchell and Miss Agnes Curran spent the week end in Noblesville to help celebrate the 95th birthday of Mrs. Mitchell's sister, Mrs. Margaret Sapper. Mr. and Mrs. James Curran and Mr. and Mrs. Paul McKeehan attended a religious conference in the Murat Temple at Indianapolis Sunday. John Airhart of Washington, D. C., spent the weekend wnth his mother. Mrs. Bertha Airhart. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Carmichael of Greencastle, were Sunday guests of her brother, Gene Gooch and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Higgles were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller. Mrs. Helen Robbins of DeSoto City, Florida is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Reeves and other relatives.

RAIXRRIDGE Barbara Roth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Roth visited relatives in Indianapolis last week. House guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roth this week are his parents from New York. Mrs. Alma Gooch of Greencastle was a guest last week of her son, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Gooch. Mrs. Ruby Crosby moved last Friday to Gentry, Arkansas where she has purchased property and will live near her son Harlan. Mr. and Mrs. Jewell Blue entertained at dinner last Thursday evening in honor of the sixteenth birthday of their son Mikell. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hough, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Harlan and Kaye, Bill Harshbarger. Muriel Nelson, Jeff and Mikell Blue. Clifton Coffman attended a postal convention at Indianapolis a week ago and will go to Terre Haute Thursday and Friday of this week to a convention. Mrs. Lucy’ Ball Smith of Lizton visited with friends here Tuesday. Mrs. Blanche Cox returned to her home Tuesday from the Putnam Co. hospital. Mrs. Ray Sallust entered the hospital at Greencastle last Thursday and underwent surgery on Friday. Mrs. Paula Mark entertained Saturday afternoon for her son Randy’s seventh birthday. Those present were David and Suzanne English. Audrey and Earl J. Harvey, Marty Evans, Eddie Green. Jimmie Hanks, and Nancy Mark. After games were played and gifts unwrapped, refreshments of cake and ice cream were served. Glenn Michael and Marshal Acton have taken over the management of the Standard Service Station, whieh was recently managed by Sam Pearson. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hutcheson of Reelsville were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hough. Several members from here attended the 4-H Junior Leaders meeting held at Cloverdale last Thursday evening. They were Mrs. Bernice Steward, Barbara Luther, Judy Coffman. Sandy Lane, Mary Jane McGuire, Sara

Bridges, Nancy Ensor and Kaye Harlan. The boys who attended were Don Jeffries, Gene Beck, Mike Blue, Bill Harshbarger, Jeff Blue and their leader, Stanley Hall. New homes are being built in the northeast part of town for , Glenn Lame of Indianapolis and Bob Rooker. Mr. and Mrs. Gilley of Morton have bought the grocery store : from Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fosher and took over the management on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Coffman and children and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Coffman enjoyed dinner at the Marathon Cafe in Hillsdale Sunday. The occasion was the 80th birthday of J. E. Coffman. The Junior Lucky Clovers met on May 20, 1957. Our business w r as discussing and handing out record books. Larry Ray announced the ewe lamb ' sale for May 28, 1957 at 7:30 p. m. on Tuesday night. Steve Sutherlin gave a health report. Mr. Branneman discussed the junior Lucky Clovers pig club. The Jackson Busy Bees 4-H Club met at 1:30 p. m., May 21, 1957, in the Barnard School Building. The meeting was called to order by Esther Pitcock, president. The pledge to the American flag was led by Susie McEvoy. The 4H pledge was led by Mary Ann Crosby. Susie McEvoy led the group in singing two songs. The secretary’s report was read by Mary Ann Crosby and approved by the club. Roll call was answered by “The Projects Taking in 4-H. Old and new business was discussed. The motion was made and second that the club give two receiving blankets to one of the club member’s mother, (Mrs. Tern piemen), for the new baby. Mary Ann Crosby was appointed by the president to plan and type the program books. There was no Health and Safety Lesson given. Faye Robbins demonstrated “Banana Bread” after which it was served with Punch for refreshments to five members present: Leader, and one guest, Patty Barton. The meeting was adjourned after which the group went out side for recreation. The next meeting will be at Barnard School, May 28, at 1:30.
