South now got to his hand with the ace of spades to try the i club finesse. East took the king "of clubs and returned the queen ; of hearts. South took the rest of the tricfei with top cards and the long club suit, making his con- : tract with an extra trick. Who went wrong? Decide for ! yourself before you read on. | West was the criminal. West should not take the king ; of diamonds at the second trick. I instead, he should play a low dia- ! mond, allowing South to win a trick with the queen of diamonds. WEST MI ST WAIT This doesn’t give up anything.
