WASHINGTON (UP)—Archibald J. Carey, acting chairman of President Eisenhower’s Committee on Government Employment, today lashed out at the Communist Party for trying to I horn in on a Negro “pilgrimage” to Washington. Calling the pilgrimage a “perfectly legitimate observance,” Carey said it was common practice of “insincere” Communist to climb aboard honest human . rights movements, thereby “ad-ulteratin-r” the movements or | “impugning the motives” of those behind them.
