Amo Centennial Creates Interest

This week still finds the crude Jail built on main street causing a lot of intei est. The Indianapolis news reporter found his intereet toog reat when he came out to take pictures and ended up in Jail and had to buy a shaving permit in order to be released. The llarlin Brothers in Indianapolis have been booked to furnish *he musical part of the entertainment during the four evenings of the Centennial and Companys or Rides and other form of entertainment have been contacted. A number of local folks have rounded up old time costumes and are getting accustomed to that way back when lock, by wearing them to various meetings. Bonnets will be available for all ladies in the near future. The horse and buggy with Jim Greeson as driver is a familiar sight arbout town now and is quite a novelity to the younger set and recalls old memories to the old folks. PROF. GREEN SPEAKS Prof. Clinton C. Green addressed the members of the Indiana School Boards Association at Spring Mill Park on Wednesday. Dr. Green spoke to the group from school corporations of 5,000 to 10,000 population. The topic for discussion is "Principals and Problems in Salary Schedules.” Dr. Green is on leave of absence during the current semester from his position as professor of Education and head of the Education Department at DePauw University. Mr. and Mrs. Green and daughter recently returned from a slay of six weeks Ln Florida and other states where Dr. Green visited the ETducation Departments of several universities.

Mr. and Mrs. Haydn Curd of Paducah, Ky., are expected on Thursday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sayers and other fiiends in Greencastle. Art works by Hoosier college and art school students have been placed on exhibit in DePauw University’s Memorial Student Union and Art Center. Among the institutions represented in the traveling show, which originated at Ball State Teachers College, are Indiana, Notre Dame. Purdue and DePauw universities. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ballard and Mr. and Mis. Perry Rush were in Terre Haute Tuesday evening to attend the 15th an- ! nual Wabash Valley Boy Scout Appreciation dinner. Mr. Rush received the Scouter’s award and the Seouter’s key in recognition of his service in Boy Scout work in Putnam County and the Wabash Valley council. At present Mr. Rush is a member of the executive board of the Wabash Valley council and chairman of the ; organization and extension committee of the Putnam district.

Peeler-O'Dell Wedding In Indianapolis Sunday Miss Natalie O’Dell, daughter of Dean and Mrs. DeForest O’Dell of Indianapolis, will become the bride of William Joseph Peeler on Sunday afternoon. The ceremony will be read at 4:30 o’clock at the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church with the reception following in the parlors of the church. The bride’s father is dean of the School of Journalism at Butler University. Miss Jeannette O’Dell of Greencastle is a great aunt of the bride, and will attend the wedding. Tri Kappa Sorority To Hold Convention Vincent Price, actor and TV contestant personality, will be the headline attraction at trie biennial convention of Kappa Kappa Kappa sorority April 12 and 13 in the French Lick Hotel at French Lack. Mrs. John E. Fell of Kokomo, state president, will preside at the convention composed of delegates from the 118 active and 97 associate chapters of this Indiana organization for the promotion of charity, culture, and education. Miss Celeste O’Shaughnessy of Dawrenceburg, council vicepresident will report on the state scholarship awards of approximately $20,000 given during the last tw r o y 7 ears.
