Cataract Lake has again proven that by impounding the waters of Eel river and allowing them to flow out in an orderly manner, that flooding of streams below the lake can be avoided. The level of the lake has been rising steadily during the past week and is expected to reach an all-time h ! ?h. Dr. Margenau To Speak Thursday A noted Eastern physicistphilosopher, Dr. Henry Mirgenau. will appear as a Faculty Lecturer at DePauw University here Thursday, April 18. Topic of his address at 7:30 p m. in Room 221 of the Memorial Student Union will be "Philosophic Perspectives of Modern Physics.” Yale University faculty member since 1931. Dr. Margenau currently is the Eugene Higgins professor of physics and natural philosophy. Putnam County Couple To Celebrate 50th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Warren R. Lewillen will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, April 14. by. having a family dinner at the home of their son near

Greeneastle.

They were married April IS, 1907 in Putnam County and have resided in that county all their

lives.

They are the parents of three children, Mrs. Paul Conrad of Lebanon, Eugene Lewallen of near Greeneastle, and Mrs. Wayne O’Hair of near Fillmore There are also eight grandchil-

dren.

Mrs. Lawrence Brant Hostess To Modern Homemakers

Tuesday evening the Modern Homemakers Club members met at the home of Mrs. Lawrence Brant. The business meeting was apened by the song of the month. En Your Easter Bonnet, led by Mrs. Brant. A gardening report was given by Mrs. Harold Surber. Many useful hints as to varieties to plant and the killing of weeds and bugs were included in her talk. Mrs. William Scobee had the safety report on accidents at housecleaning time. The lesson Program Planning was given by Mrs. Lloyd Convers. There were a number of discussions on what we would have for next years programs. Our club reached its conclusions to be handed in by Mrs. Conyers. Roll call was a 50c plant ex•hange and many unusual pots md plants turned up. The meetng was then closed. During the social hour the contest was won by Mrs. Richard Rossok. Mystery prize was won by Mrs. Wavne Nelson. Mrs. Wilbur Lucas icceived a secret sister gift. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess and her cohostess. Mrs. Myrdell York.
