Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Sage of Marion spent the week-end with relatives in this city. Job’s Daughters will meet this evening at 7:00 p. m. at the Masonic Temple. Mrs. J. B. Marsh is in Florida with a party of friends from Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. F. K. Wuertz and children left for Florida on Sunday. They will be away for ten days. The County Home Demonstration Chorus rehearsal scheduled for Tuesday evening has been cancelled. Bee Hive Rebekah lodge wall meet this evening at 8:00 p. m. in their own hall. There wall be initiation of candidates. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown, Greencastle, are the parents of a daughter, bom Monday at the Putnam county hospital. Mrs. Anna May Hunter remained on the critical list at the Putnam county hospital Monday. Mrs. Hunter was seriously burned at her home on the PutnamClay county line road Friday morning. John E. Fobes was elected a director of the Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen’s Association at the 59th annual convention held in the Hotel Severin in Indianapolis on Friday. H. C. Spear of Bedford, the father of Mrs. Kenneth Eitel of Greencastle, was named an honorary director of the Association.

Staggs-Lukenbill W edding Saturday Miss Helen M. Lukenbill and Roy Herbert Staggs were united in marriage Saturday evening at 8 o’clock at the Brick Chapel Methodist church. The bride is the daughter of Air. and Mrs. Bill Lukenbill, Greencastle R. 3, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Afro. Clarence Staggs, Rockville R. 1. Nancy Baldwin sang “Always” and “I Love You Truly,” accompanied by Airs. J. R. South at the piano. The Rev. Ben Franklin read the vows of the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with gladioli and palms. The bride wore a suit of white crystal cloth with black accessories and a corsage of red roses. Margaret Edgell w’as the bride’s only attendant. Her corsage was of white carnations. Robert Edgell served as best man. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the church. Assisting were Jessie Lukenbill, Alartha AIcNutly, Anna Lee Wilson and Nancy Baldwin. The w’edding cake, topped with miniature bride and groom and encircled with greenery, w r as in the center of the table. The couple left on a short wedding trip to Illinois. For traveling the bride chose a blue suit. They will reside at 1124 Ave. D, in Greencastle. The bride is a graduate of the Bainbridge high school with the ! class of 1955 and is empliyed at the Angwell Curtain Co. Mr. Staggs graduated from the Union Township high school in 1952 and is employed with Poor and Company. Out of town guests attending were from Indianapolis, Perrysville, Rockville, Plainfield, Ladoga, Brazil, Fillmore, Bainbridge and Greencastle.
Home Guardians C tub Meets The Home Guardians Demonstration Club met at the home of Mrs. John Reeling with fifteen i members and two guests child- ! ren present. The children were Pamela and Michael Reiling. Business in general w r as taken care of and a donation to the polio fund was passed by all the members. A very interesting lesson winch was part one of the 4-H program w r as given by Mrs. Herbert Nodine. The meeting was adjourned with lovely refreshments being served by our hostess.
Manhattan Homemakers Club Meets Friday The Manhattan Homemakers Club will meet Friday at 1:00 p. m. at the home of Airs. Clark Herbert. Roll call will be a valentine exchange.
Mrs. John Gray Is Club Hostess The Cagle Ten and Four Club met Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the home of Airs. John Gray. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. John Gray. Roll call was answered by twelve members present reading Creed and club prayer. The lesson of the month was in tw r o parts, given first part by Airs. Forest Williams, “Knowing and Understanding What 4-H Club Work Is and What It Does for Your Child. The second part, given by Mrs. Walter Lucus was the part each parent, together with the 4-H Leaders is responsible for in this w r ork. Corena Evens Bride Of Thomaa Fisher The Methodist Church at Putnamville was the scene of a beautiful candle light service January 26 at 7:30 p. m. when Corena Hatcher Evens and Thomas How r ard Fisher w r ere united in marriage. The altar was decor- | ated with palms, ferns and seven branch candelabra. Parents of the couple were Mr. and Mrs. George A. Hatcher of Putnamville and Mr. and Airs. Donald J. Fisher of Terre Haute. The vows of the double ring ceremony were read by Rev. James Boyle of Lyons, Indiana. Miss Bernice Lewis played bridal music before the ceremony and accompanied Robert Wallace, who sang “Because,” “I Take Thee, Dear,” and “The word’s Piayer.” Miss Marie Wells of Greencas:le was maid of honor. She wore a ballerina length dress of aqua blue with fitted bodice and full skirt. Her mitts and headpiece were of matching material. Her fiow r ers w r ere yellow* loses with yellow net and streamers. The flower girl and ring bearer were Linda Carol and Larry Russell, children of the bride. The flower girl’s gown was yellow net formal with full skirt worn with a hoop. Her headpiece was pink sweetheart roses and she carried a basket of rose petals. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a ballerina length gown of pink lace over satin, full skirt worn with a hoop, fitted bodice high in the neck and buttons in the back and had a short jacket. She wore*a matching satin hat covered with beading and sequins, pink mitts and a single strand of pearls. Her bouquet was pink sweetheart roses with pink net and streamers. Fred H. Briggs of Greencastle 1 was best man and the guests ! were seated by Dorwun D. Dun- 1 can and William A. The bride is a graduate of the Plainfield high school and is employed by Internationa] Business Machines Company. The groom is a graduate of Garfield High [ School, Terre Haute. He served ‘ with the U. 9. Army in Korea 1 and at present is employed by | International Business Machines 1 Company. Mr. and Mrs. Fisher left for a > wedding trip through the South. For traveling the bride wore a , browm sheath type dress of orlon and silk with beige accessories and the corsage from the bridal bouquet. After the wedding trip, they will be at home or R.
