Tigers Host To Indiana State
With semester examinations begining next week, DePauw will 'meet Indiana State here tomorrow' night in the Tigers’ last * game before February' 9. The varsity tilt w'ill begin at 7.30 p. m. in Bowman gym, following a 6 p. m. freshman con- | test between the same schools. In the Indiana Collegiate Con- j ference affair DePauw will be out to break a two-game losing streak and possibly climb back on top of the league standings, i A Bengal victory coupled with ! a Ball State loss to St. Joseph’s in Muncie w'ould give DePauw | the number one spot with a 6-2 record and drop the Cards into 1 third below Butler. Earlier this season Cal Lut'n- I er’s locals took a 73-55 decis : n from Indiana State in Terre Haute, but the Sycamores were in contention until the final minutes. Luther’s main problem n finding replacements for his i jured center Chuck Cleaver, end guard regulars,, forward Bob Schrier, Joe Lawler. Filling in for Lawler against Butler, Morrie Goodnight came through with 19 poinfs, and the two healthy regulars, Tom Johnson and John. Bunnell, had 18 apiece. For tomorrow' night’s game Bing Davis will start at center, and junior Ernie Modzelewski is Luther’s choice for the remaining forward slot. Aside from Schrier, sidelined since Dec. 22 with a foot injury, Bunnell has been the Bengals’ most consistant scorer this season. Averaging 14.6 points per game, he has been out of the double figures only once. Johnson owns a 13.4 average and a pair of remarkable percentages, .451 from the field and .812 from the free throw line. Bunnell is shooting .431 and .714, respectively. Tops in the rebound department is Johnson with 127, followed by center Sam Ulmer with an even 100. Boasting the best defense in the conference, DePauw has allowed seven ICC opponents only 1 64.4 points a game, and the Tigers lead the loop in field goal shooting with a .429 percentage.

WASHINGTON (UP) — Sen. j Karl E. Mundt, R-S. D., has called for an investigation of "sharp ; and continuing rises” in the price of Canadian newsprint imported j by the United States.
