MILWAUKEE (UP)—Walter Reuther, president of the United Auto Workers, told Milwaukee union members that take-home pay increases will be the nucleus of contract bargaining in 1958. The top emphasis dui ing negotiations will be placed on “expanding our purchasing power, the base of our economy,” he said Sunday. Reuther denied that wages jack up the cost of living, but said unjust profits do. He said he asked President Eisenhower's support in stimulating a congressional investigation of the factors which increase the cost of living.
