HODOE ASKED ABOUT RESTORING STOLEN FUNDS CHICAGO (UP)—Orville E. Hodge, defiant and unsmiling, came here from his prison cell today to tell what he had done about restoring the 2 and onehalf million dollars he stole from the state treasure.
from Menard State prison, the former auditor strode quickly past photographers into the U. S. courthouse for the hearing | before Judge John P. Barnes. Hodge draped his dark ov- * ercoat in front of him. to hide ' his manacled hands from cameras. He was bareheaded and wore j a blue suit with a white shirt. Little expression showed on Hodge’s face, pale from four months behind prison bars. He stared defiantly at photographers, as though daring them to
take his picture.
