today listed a yea.' s total of 399 cases of polio, mor- than 10 per cent below the comparative tot-
al for 1955.
The board’s morbidity report included six cases during the week which were not reported previously. The 299 total compared with 446 for the corresponding period in 1955 and 621 as a five-year median. While Polio totals were down, the cumulative totals for the year through the week ending Dec. 29 included some sharp increases over 1955 . Measles cases were up from 3,854 in 1955 to 14.914 in 1956. and German measles from 494 to 2,144. Both 1956 totals were well above the five-year median
figures.

Savings and Loan
USE OF
SAVERS
Perhaps you’ve never looked at it in quite this way before; but to the savers and borrowers who find it financially attractive to do business with us . . . this city represents in large measure the results of the flow of their savings dollars. These dollars, which they entrust to our care, are loaned to families right here in the community ... to build or buv a home of their own. In turn, the dollars these borrowers spend for their homes circulate throughout the city among the various businesses . . . and eventually, many of them find their way back here to start the cycle over again. Thus, this flow of savers’ dollars feeds the economy of our city and makes it prosper. And as the city is prospering, so too are our savers, who earn better-than-average returns on their savings twice each year. So take a second look in ’57 . . . then open your profit-earning savings account before January 10th. You'll receive two full dividends in the year to come.
