BROWNIE CEREMONY AT BAIXBRIDGE ON WED.

There will be Brownie investure ceremony at the home of Mias EUa Pickett in Bainbridge for Brownies at 4.43 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. At this ceremony the new Brownie troop will be started and under the leadership of Miss Pickett ana other public spirited women of Bainbridge, it is bound to be a great success.

Disney of Bainbridge called at the Porter Funeral Home of North Salem to see Aunt Nancy i Morphew Saturday. . The Thursday Reading Club will meet Thursday evening at 6:45 at the home of Mrs. Edith Herbert, West Berry street, to go to the county home. Please bring gifts for the home and also gifts for exchange. A birthday dinner was given Joe Tom Disney of Bainbridge Sunday. He was 77 years old. Alvan Ellis has returned to his home in Marine City, Mich, after visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Ellis and his niece, Norma Jean Applegate. She was sent on a plane to Mayo’s last Thursday for medical treatment which will take six weeks or more. Mrs. York Hostess To Modern Homemakers The Modern Homemakers Home Demonstration Club mei at the home of Mrs. Frank York with thirteen members and one guest, Kathy Scott, present. The meeting was opened by the president, Mrs. Robert Cooper, after which the group sang “Come, Ye Thankful People” and repeated the club creed in unison Mrs. Raymond Reeves gave a safety report on safe driving and Mrs. Wilbur Lucas gave a gardening report which included the care of several potted plants that are given during the holiday sea-

son. Hostesses and co-hostesses were drawn for the coming yeai. Mrs. Robert Cooper and Mrs. Lawrence Brant received secret sister gifts. During the social hour the hostess and her assistant. Mrs Wayne Nelson, served very delicious refreshments. The club then sdjoumed to meet at 6:30 p. m. December 18. at the home of Mrs. Robert Cooper.

Miss Janet Keuthan To Be Married Deo. 29th Mr. and Mrs. Frederick W. Keuthan of Indianapolis, have issued invitations to the wedding of their daughter. Miss Janet Keuthan, to James Frederick Merrett. The ceremony will take place on Saturday evening, December 29th, at 7:30 o’clock at the Meridian Heights Presbyterian church in Indianapolis. A reception in the Marble room at the Marott hotel will follow the ceremony. Miss Keuthan attended DePauw University and is a mem her of Delta Gamma sorority. Club Met With Mrs. Anne Van Cleave The Federated Country Reading Club met at the home of Mrs. Anne VanCleave on Wednesday, Nov. 21. Mrs. VanCleave acted as hostess for Mrs. Chauncey Sutherlin the scheduled hostess since Mr. and Mrs. Sutherlin are visiting in California. Group singing opened the meeting followed by flag salutes to the National and Christian flags, Mrs. Madonna Barker leading the salutes. Mrs. Nona Grantham read for the devotionals from the Psalms and read an article which outlined the power and inspiration one receives from these passages of faith and trust in God. Roll call responses followed our accepted pattern of information along the lines et the departmental work of the General Federation.

Mrs. Gladys DeVore, who is in Florida at present, asked that a contribution she made be used to purchase Xmas remembrance for our mental patient adoptee. The regular club dues and the dues for the G.F.W.C. were collected. Plans were made for our customary Xmas party at the County Home for the residents there the date to be selected according to the schedule of the activities of the Home. Members of our club will be notified of arrangements and date. At the close of the regular session the hostess served delicious refreshments.
