500 REFUGEES DUE NEW YORK (UP) —Some 500 Hungarian refugees are scheduled to arrive in tnis country by emergency airlift this week, tne Inter - governmental Committee for European Migration (ICEM) announced today. The first plane of a projected two-a-day airlift was to leave Vienna teday and arrive at McGuire Air Force Base, N. J., late Tuesday. There are six other arrivals scheduled this week, bringing tlm vanguard of 5.000 Hungarians who are to be resettled in America in “Project Mercy.” The refugees fled to Austria during the revolt aaginst pro-Soviet Communist government.
