Miss Joanne Louise Butcher Bride of Donald Philip Maxwell Announcements of the marriage of Miss Joanne Louise Dutcher, daughter of Mr. ard Mrs. William Rodney Dutcher of Downers Grove, Illinois, and Donald Philip Maxwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Maxwell of Chicago, have been received here by the numerous friends of Mr and Mrs. Maxwell. The wedding took place on Saturday afternoon.
MRS. DAKIN DIFS Death came to Mrs. Ida Mae Dakin, age 84, at 10:00 a. m. Wednesday morning at the residence of her daughter. Mrs. Farrel Clendening in Indianapolis Mrs. Dakin had been in failing health for several years. She I was born in Indiana on May 9th. 1872, the daughter of John Gra\ i and Hannah Davis. In addition to the daughter, she is survived by a half-sister. Mrs. Hazel Odum of Granite City, 111. Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive. A resident of Quincy most of her life, funeral services will be conducted at the Quincy Baptise church at 10:30 a. m. Saturday [ with the Rev. Chelas Sheese in charge. Interment will follow in the Combs cemetery . Friends may call at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale until noon Friday, and then at the family residence in Quincy.

ELECTED DIRECTOR Robert D. Loring, assistant professor of geology and geography at DePauw, has been elected a director of the Indiana Academy of Social Sciences. The academy, which includes political scientists, geographers, economists, sociologists, and historians from Indiana institutions held its annual meeting at Crawfordsville last weekend. Another DePauw professor, Wallace G. Graves, ended his term as vice-president for political science, and Prof. Clark Norton, also a member of the political science department here, resigned as secretary.
Frank T. Duncan of Hemet, Calif., was a guest of the Greencastle Rotary Club at its weekly luncheon at the Student Union today. Mr. Duncan, a real estate agent, is a member of the Rotary Club in Hemet.
