Grenftt were united in marriage Friday afternoon in the First Methodist Church at West L»afayette. The bride is the dshi^hter of 1 Mr. and Mrs. Harry Seeley, of Lafayette, formerly of Green-1 castle. The Rev. Vernon Bigler read j the vows of the double ring cere- 1 mony. The bride wore a street-length i acftia parchment satin gown styl- j ed with three-quarter length | sleeves and the skirt flared at | the back. Her matching .should- : er-length veil was attached to cn aqua headpiece, and she carried a cascade arrangement of pink roses. Miss Margaret Ann Messenger,, honor attendant, wore a street-length peacock- colored velveteen sheath gown and matching headpiece. Her bouquet was of deep pink roses. Gale Grenat served his brother as best man. Mr. and Mrs. Grenat received guests in the home of the bride's parents following the ceremony. They will reside at Belleville, 111.

Den 3 Cub Scouts held their first meeting of the year Monday. Oct. 1. at the home of Mrs. Eva Blotch. The next meeting will be a hay ride and wiener roast Monday, Oct. 8, at 6:30 p. rn. Gladah Childs is the oen mother. The annual homecoming of Wesley Chapel church of Floyd township is to be held Sunday, Oct. 7. There will be the Sunday School lesson in the morning, a basket dinner at noon and special music and an address by Rev. Joe Miller in the afternoon. Mrs. Lura Crawley, Mrs. Ruth Fry, Mrs. Edna Hewlett, Mrs. Roxie Torr. Mrs. Nina Shank anil Mrs. Clova York attended the restaurant convention at the Murat Temple Tuesday in Indianapolis.
The PiU^jT^ar Sunday School meeting which was scheduled for Thursday evening has been postponed. Women of the Moose chapter No. 138 will meet this evening at 8:30 p. m. at the Moose Hall. The^re will be initiation of candidates. Mrs. Clova York, Mrs. R itn Fry and Miss Ethel Bchachtel attended the district meeting of District No. 19 of Rebekah lodge at Martinsville last Wednesday. The Washington Township PTA will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 7:00 in the high school gymnasium. Mr. Ralph Neiland, Representative from the Wabash Valley Boy Scout Council, will be the speaker. An exhibition will be presented by the local Cub Scout group.

Miss Patsy Jeffries and Mr.; Byron Gough gave very interesting reports on the time they ^pent at Girls’ Starte and Boy's State last summer. Miss Jeffries was sponsored by the Roachdale Chapter of Delta Theta Tau and Mr. Gough was sponsored by the Greencastle post of American Legion. Mrs. Sherman Thompson gave a complete financial report of the Food Stand at the Farm Progress Show. Mr. James Myers gave the report from the joint executive comm, of the

Arthur Ames, living in Monroe township, has a field of jumbo sized turnips. He brought two to The Daily Banner office that weighed nearly five pounds. Ke reports having a field of them, many of the jumbo size. J. E. Hood, local representative for Investors Diversified Services, Inc., will attend a sales conference of the company in Minneapolis, October 9-11. Mr. Hood will go by plane from Indianapolis to Chicago and then fly to
Minneapolis.
Friends of Mrs. Philip Maxwell of Chicago will regret to learn of the death of her sister, Mrs. Edwyn H. Hames, wife of the dean of the music department of Hillsdale (Mich.) College. Mrs. Hames passed away on Monday at the University Hospital in Ann
Arbor, Mich.
