The program was in charge of Airs. Joseph ‘Y. Todd and she gave a short summary of the life of Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. She then pla\ T ed a tape recording of lecture which he had recently given in Cleveland, Ohio, at an Industrial contention. The lecture was very interesting and witty and those present considered it a privilege to have heard him.
JAMES ROOSEVELT, California representative to Congress, and his present wife, Irene, are shown in Los Angelas Superior court where he is seeking custody of his three children for six weeks in the summer, on alternate weekends and on certain holidays. Gobin VV. S. C. S. To Meet Thursday The Woman’s Society of Christian Service of Gobin Methodist church will begin fall activities with a carry-in luncheon on Thursday. Mrs. D. W. Smythe is luncheon chairman. Airs. Verner Houck will be in charge of the worship service. The program for the afternoon will feature a study of the Quadrennial Goals. Ali s. John See is the program chairman. She will be assisted by Mrs. Alike Snavely, Airs. Ben Dean, Airs. A. C. Northrup, Alls. Robert Harvey, Alis. Evan Crawley, and Mrs. W. L. Hargrave. Special music will be provided by Mrs. A. L. Aleredith. Mrs. S. A. Carruth will serve as the accompanist. The luncheon will be served in the Gobin Community Room at 12:15. All ladies of the church are invited to attend.

The lesson on Furniture arrangement was presented in an interestinm manner by Airs. Roy Taylor. New trends in color for the home and arrangement ideas using furniture we now have were very interesting and informative Tasty refreshments servel by the hostess and a contest presented by Airs. Harry Bond and won by Mrs. Forest Aker and Mrs. Cecil Craft made up the social hour. Airs. Roy Taylor w r as recipient of the door prize. The October meeting will be at the home of Airs. Harry Bond.

Council of Federated Chubs To Meet The Council of Putnam County Federation of clubs will meet Wednesday. Sept. 26th. at 1:30 p m. in the Greencastle Public library. All department end division chairmen and presidents of Federated clubs are urged to attend.
The Indiana Moose association will hold its 33rd annual convention at Terre Haute, Thursday through Sunday, with nearly 500 delegates from 75 state lodges expected to attend. District Vice President Austin Funk, of Greencastle, will head the local Aloose lodge delegation who will attend five business sessions, an enrollment ceremony and. tw 7 o banquets.
Sk5mmerhorn-Kato Wedding .Announced S.F.C. Amos F. Skimmerhorn and Aliss Alisako Kato were united in marriage on August 17 at the American Embassy in Tolj^vo. Japan. The couple is expected to return to the United States sometime near February, 1957. They will take a short vacation in Greencastle before g'oing to S.F.C. Skimmerhorn’s next assignment. Amos is the son of Airs. Cora Chrisenberry and James Skimmerhorn.
