Several items were discussed during the business session. Plans were made to have a fish fry at the church basement Oct. 6. Next meeting to be Oct. 4 at 7:30 p. m.

The Women’s Study Club will meet Friday, Sept. 14, at the home of Mrs. R. E. Sandy. Leroy Johnson, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, formerly of this city, is visiting relatives and frienas here. The Hoosier Loam Chapter of the Riley Cheer Guild will meet Monday Sept. 17th 1:00 p. m. at the home of Mrs. Alice Cradick. All members please be present. Charles B. Edmonson of Clayton, was here Wednesday on business for the veterans’ vocational agriculture program of the State Department of Public Instruction. Miss Virginia Foster, a former Indianapolis teacher has arrived in Los Angeles to begin teaching. She is a graduate of Fillmore H. S. and also has B. S. & M. S. degrees from Indiana State Teachers College. Clyde Roundtree, son of Mr. and Mrs. Garald Brown, 418 S. Jackson St., will leave on Saturday for Bloomington, where he will be a member of the Junior Class at Indiana University. Young Roundtree is a pre-med. student at the University.
UNUSUAL THEFT HOLLAND, Mich. (UP) — Someone stole 200 pounds of ferromolybdenum from a local plant, police reported. Ferromolybdenum is a material used in die casting and is valued at $1 a pound.

Mrs. Knauer Hostess To Club Mrs. Rosa Knauer was hostess to The Friendly Circle Home Demonstration Club for its Sept, meeting. The president, Mrs. Mary Stone called the meeting to order by all repeating the club creed and flag sarhite. The roll call was answered by twelve members. It was voted to keep the same officers next year as we have had the past year. Mrs. Mary Stone, president, Mrs. Norma Applegate, vice president, Mrs. Lietha King, secretary, and Mrs. Ruth Watts, treasurer. We were fortunate in having one of our members, Mrs. Bernadine Woodall selected as one of the models at the Farm Progress Show. The lesson on ‘‘Furniture Arrangement for Family Living” was given by Mrs. Mary Stone. Mrs. Blanche Harrold gave the safety hint and the suggestion on

Cozy Corner Club Hail All Day .Meeting The Cozy Corner Club met Thursday, Sept. 5th, for aK ad day meeting. A pitch-in dinner was served at the noon hour. Meeting was called to order in the afternoon by the vice president. The song was ‘"Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus.” Rol! call was answered by six members giving their recipes for mixed juices and paying dues. Business consisted of plans for raising money for the club and to finish scrap books for the Riley ! Hospital. Meeting closed witiij song and prayer. Contests were enjoyed by the group. Everyone ! received a small gift from the hostess. Her gift had been presented earlier. No meeting was held in the month of August due j to vacationing, reunions and can- ! ning. Next meeting will be with Mrs. Sears.
