Nixon Says It's Up To Delegates SAN FRANCISCO (UP) — Vice President Richard M. Nixon confidentally left his political future in the hands of Republican convention delegates today. H.s renomination was a certainty.

In one of his last moves before today's balloting on the vice presidential nomination, Nixon I urged Republicans not to block Harold E. Stassen's request to | address the convention—presumably in behalf of his dying “dump Nixon” drive. Unanimous consent of the delegates would be required before Stassen could speak to the convention because \ he is not a delegate. A half dozen or more states ! had wired Nixon their intention. 1 1 of objecting to—and thus blocking—Stassen’s request. But the ; vice president made a public appeal against the idea in a visit to the Ohio delegation Tuesday night. “T personally urge that no objection be raised 1 ’ to Stassen’s appearance, Nixon told newsmen. “I think he should be allowed to appear and express his views.” Although he denied any “campaigning” attempts on his own behalf, Nixon continued his whirlwind schedule of delegation conferences almost up to the hour of balloting.
