Vaughn has returned to # Greencastle and Cloverdale after * spending a month with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hirka, who have a summer resort on St. Joseph River at Mottville, Mich. Hirka's Boat Livery, Cottage’s and House 'Trailer Park. Lloyd Vaughn and son. Kenneth Vaughn went to Michigan after Mr. Vaughn.

The Dimmicks have two interesting visitors from France in their home. Miles. Germaine and Olga Colin of Remiremont, France have just arrived for a two weeks visit with Miss Milfired and Miss Xan Dimmick. The Misses Dimmick returned on Monday from Swarthmore, Pa., where they were visiting their nephew, Alfred G. Boyd, Mrs-. Boyd, and family. Miss Mildred Dimmick went to New York from Swarthmore and met the two French mademoiselles, who are making their first visit to America. Walter Trueblood of Evansville spent Monday in Greencastle visiting John A. Friend. Back in 1918 both men were reai buddies after being captured by the Germans in the Argonne Forest and being held prisoners of wat at P. O. W. Camp Rostatl Ba:.eau, Germany. After release both were together in Base Hospital 115 Vidry, France where they spent 28 days to recuperate

Chicago reported 147 cases, of .vhich 90 were paralytic. Only Illinois and Utah reported more than 50 cases. So far in 1956. there have been 5,309 cases 1 eported. In toe -ame period of 1955, there were 7,829 cases reported. Some 328 of the 753 cases reported last week were paralytic.
