PTR^F rOAIT* RACK Ind. ftTPi — Mrs. Woodrow Mooro lost her purse last summer while motorirg from Alabama to Richmond. It was returned to her a half year later by a Tennessee woman whose husband found it along the road. The contents were intact — -'•luding $7 in cash.
Blackwvod On Bridjje Dummy Entries are Vital In Effecting Squeeze Play If it weren't for her wonderful luck and her skill at dummy play, Miss Brash’s explosive bidding method;; would have her broke in a very short time. But even so, there was still a - heart loser. Mrs. Keen opened the nine of diamonds and the jack lost to the king. Mr. Abel returned ths jack of hearts. Miss Brash put in the queen and showed no particular surprise when it held. She expects this kind of good fortune. THE FORMULA looking tire hand over she now applied the formula I have *uggested. The bidding and the play to the first two tricks made it
almost a rerfalntv that Mr. Abel had the ace of diamonds and the i king and ten of hearts. If so, he i was the only defender who could guard those two suits. Mr. Abel's aee of diamonds was 1 a first round winner so he had to hold only one card in that suit. His king of hearts was a second j round winner, requiring him to keep two cards in hearts. A total i of three cards. Two tricks had alreavly been played and Miss Brash could take the next nine with winners outside of the squeeze suits. Till: IMPORTANCE I have pointed out the extreme importance of entries between
h n closed hand and dummy in , executing a squeeze. Miss Brash was careful to cash all six of her | clubs first, discarding two diamonds and a heart from the board the last three club leads. Then she cashed the ace and queen of spades. When she led the la-at spade to dummy’s king. Mr. Abel was squeezed. Left in dummy at this point were the queen of diamonds and a heart. Miss Brash was holding the srce and nine of hearts. Mr. Abel’s last three cards were the king-jack of hearts and the ace of diamonds. It was his play to the eleventh trick. If he dropped the diamond, dummy’s
r.-Aon would become » winner discarded the ten of hearts and Miss Brash won the last two tricks in the heart suit.

MM DOW MW 'JUST FACE LIFTING "?
TpVERY NOW AND THEN, W0 rim fj across someone who seems to think that 1956 cars do not offer anything really new—just a little face lifting from the year before. We won’t try to speak for the automobile industry. But we certainly can speak for Buick. And let us announce in no uncertain terms—it’s the newest thing on wheels. The Styling is New Sure, it looks like a Buick. But it has a new Y-prowed grille that says 19.56 and no mistake. The hood’s new—the fender ports are new—the sweepspear is new— and it all adds up to a new sweepahead look that ends in a sassy new slant to the rear contours. But that, friends, is only the beginning. The 1956 Dynaflow* is New It introduces what the engineers call “double regeneration — which means a doubleaction take-off. It gives you new.
split-second response in the first inch of pedal travel — ph/s the “switch the pitch at full acceleration, which no one else has yet approached. The Ride is New To coil springs on all four wheels, a brawny X-braced frame, and torque-tube drive, the engineers have added deep-oil shock absorbers to give new softness, new buoyancy, new comfort, and a brand-new “sense of direction ’ handling response. The Power is New All 1956 Buicks have new 322-cubic-inch YS’s—with record highs in power and compression — with unique new double “Y” manifolding to step up efficiency —with new carburetor “deicing”
—and a host of other new features to make owning a Buick pure pleasure. The Thrill is New And the surest way for you to find out how right we are, is to sample a 1956 Buick yourself. As we said before, this is the best Buick yet—by a wide measure— and when you learn the prices w e re quoting, you’ll know why this Buick is one of the three best sellers in today’s market. It takes a lot more than face lifting to produce such a winner as this. *Netv Advanced Variable Pitch Dt/naflow is the only Dynaflow Buick builds today. It is standard on Roadmaster, Super and Century — optional at modest extra cost on the Special. WHEN BETTER AUTOMOBILES ARE BUILT BUICK WILL BUILD THEM
