SOCIETY •Iones PTA Will .Meet On Friday The Jones P. T. A. will meet in the school cafetorium Friday, April 13, at 2:30 p. m. A panel will be held on "The Phonetic Approach To Reading,” conducted by teachers and parents of the Jones school. There will be a demonstration lesson of this method now being used in the First Grade. Since this is the first year for using this method of reading in the Greencastle schools, parents are urged to attend this meeting. There will also be an election )f officers for the coming year.

Martha Circle To Meet Thursday Martha Circle of Gobin W. S. ^ C. S. will meet Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. C. D. W. Hildebrand. Miss Mildred Dimmick will have the program. Her topic will be “To . Combine Our Efforts for Lasting Peace.” Mrs. Vurlin Rader wilt give the devotions. Club Meets With Mildred Sutherlin The April meeting of the Friendly Circle Home Demonstration Club was held at the home of Mrs. Mildred Sutherlin. Mrs. Alary Stone called the meeting to order by the giving of the flag salute and club prayer. Thirteen members and one guest, Mrs. Lavern Tincher, answered roll call. There were five children present also. Announcements were made of the Cooking School at Wards on April 17 and the tea to be held Alay 9th to observe National Home Demonstrtaion Week. Also the club members are to tour the Central National Bank on Monday, April 16, at 1:30. Mrs. Norma Applegate was in charge of the lesson ’ Program Planning for 1957.’’ Mrs. Ro.-a Knauer gave some helpful information on gardening. The hostess served delicious refreshments. Airs. John Edward Lyon, 33, of Rt. 4, Greencastle, in city court Tuesday pleaded innocent to a charge of drunk driving but his companion, Don Hunter, 37, of the same address, pleaded guilty

to public intoxication.

Hunter- was fined $1 and costs and a ti ial for Lyon was set for Thursday afternoon. The two men were arrested Monday night by city police.—Brazil Times.
