Guy Mollet Seeks Confidence Vote

Pre-

PARIS, Jan. 31 (UP mier-designato Guy Mollet goes before France's divided National Assembly today in search of a \ote of confidence he hopes will install his left-of-center government as France’s 22nd since the

war.

The assembly’s actio"h today was as uncertain as the Socialist leader’s political future. There was bickering right up until the last moment a | ,ng his own political colleagues and dissatis-

faction on every side.

Most of the French news pap- ; ers predicted success today in ‘ Mollet's first test, but the politi- ! cally well-informed neutralist I

newspaper Combat hazardous to make

great uncertanity reigned in National Assembly circles yesterday about the results of the

vote.”

BENSON GIVES OBDEP CHICAGO, Jan. 31—fTTP) — Secretary of Agriculture Ezra T. Benson today bluntly told pork processors to keep their marketing margins and profits in line and to pay farmers “as much as possible” for their livestock. “This is no time.” Benson said, “to take advantage of the American farmer. We simply cannot afford to let him carry the full brunt of increased processing and distribution costs, yes even increased profits, in other sectors

of the mea-t industry.

PLAN'S LEGAL FIGHT

CHICAGO, Jan. 31—iUP) — Tokyo Rose plans to gain a delay of several years by fighting an Immigration Service move to have her deported and hopes eventually to avoid her ouster

from this country.
