The governor spoke Saturday night at the third annual testimonial dinner in his honor given by the Republican Veterans of

On the state level, Craig said his administration had achieved its objectives of saving lives and money. “Public credit will accrue to the Republican party through the years,” Craig told his audience of about 5,000 persons, “because every Indiana citizen will know that it was a Republican administration that put in toll roads.” Five accomplishments were listed by Craig as “some of the progressive steps” his administration took. Craig said mental health reforms have been accomplished with better care of patients and a rate of discharge from hospitals that has more than doubled in three years.
