STANDING UP in his open car. President Eisenhower waves to a crowd which greeted him in Key West, Fla., at the start of his work-and-play vacation. Bystanders smiled when the President’s car' passed this corner of Truman avenue and Margaret street with its “Margaret Truman Launderette” in the background. North Beach drive, one of the town’s main streets, was hastily renamed "Eisenhower drive” in his honor.

GOSPEL of EEIRIST

THE RISEN LORD

(CONTINUED l When Joseph buried the body of Jesus, the hopes of U12 disci les were buried in the same grave with the .body whom tlvy trusted should h ive redeem, cd Israel. Did the enemies of Jesu ; remove the body? Surely they had no motive for so doing. They had crucified Jesus; they felt that His work was erdcd, and they took precaution to ke p hi body in the grave. If they removed the body why did they not produce it on Pentecost, when Peter boldly proclaimed the resurrection of Christ? Thus far our* evidence has been circumstantial, but now we have the testimony of eyewitnesses. They saw Him, ate with Him and talked with Him after His resurrection. He appeared to: Mary Magdalene (Mark 16:9-11 i; to th ■ other* women a l.ttle later (Mathew 28:1. 9-101 • to Simon Peter (Luke 24 34: 1 Corinthians 15:5); to the two disciples mentioned in Mark 16:12; Luke 24:15; to the apo ties in the absence of 3h mas (Mark 16:14, Luke 24:36-48); to the apostles, including Thomas eight nays later iJohn 20:26, 1 Corinthian15:5); to seven disciples at the Sea of Galilee (John 21:1-2), to 500 disciples 1 Corinthians 15:6), to James (1 Corinthians 15:7; to the apostles at O’ivet (1 Cor inthians 15:71; and to Paul als > (1 Corinthians 15:8). If these statemen: wjre untrue why did rot the enem es call them in question, impeach their testimony, and thus forever settle the matter, and ,cut an end to Chri t anity forever? These disciples testif el that Jesus arose fi m the grave an] gave their lives rather than retract their statements.
