Miss Brash won the first three tricks with her top club honors. Mrs. Keen discard2d the deuce of diamonds on the third trick. It now- appears that there are no more tricks for the defenders. But it was a little card in Mrs. Keen’s hopeless-looking hand that spelled defeat for Mr. Dale. At trick four Miss Brash led 4 a fourth round of clubs. A small spade went on from dummy and it was up to Mrs. Keen. If Mr. Muzzy had held the East hand he might have reasoned, “Why ruff this trick when I know Dale can overruff?’’ AUTOMATIC Mrs. Keen is not that kind of player. She has learned it is automatic to ruff in this situation. In the first place her trumps were worthless as far as following suit to declaret’s trump leads was concerned. She could hardly expect to take a trick with the seven spot. It was her duty, however, to make Mr. Dale play a trump on this trick in the hope such a play would set up a trump winner in her partner’s, hand. The seven spot seemed a pitifully hopeless effort in that direction but, as you see, the result was devastating. OYERRUFF Mr. Dale had already lost three tricks. He had to overruff with the ja-ck or admit defeat then and there. After that, in spite of the fact his hand and dummy consisted of practically nothing but IN MEMORY In loving memory of our mother and grandmother, Eva Sears, who passed away Dec. 9, 1951. Nothing can ever take away The love a heart holds dear. Fond memories linger every day, Remembrance keeps her near. Jesse and girls. p.

honor cards, he had to concede a trick to Miss Brash's 10 of hearts. If Mrs. Keen had discarded or ruffed with the deuce of hearts at trick four, Mr. Dale would have made game and rubber without difficulty.

Indiana State , To Face Tigers . Undefeated DePauw will attempt to stretch its recent supremecy over Indiana State to four straight in an Indiana Conference gaime here Saturday night. The Bengals took both ends of s home-and-home arrangement last year by scores of 79-59 and 64-61 after annexing the second tilt of a similar series in 1953-54. Winner of two in a row this season. DePauw has averaged 88 points a game while disposing of Earlham, 89-79, and Ball State, 87-72, in the ICC ( pener at Muncie Wednesday. Indiana State, which will be making its first road appearance, compiled an early 1-1 record at IN MEMORY In memory of our dear beloved husband, father and grandfather who departed this life one year ago today, December 9, 1955. Your bade no one a last farewell. You said good-bye to none Your loving heart had ceased to beat Before we knew you had gone. Still many a lonely heartache And often a silent tear But often a beautiful memory Of one we loved to dear. in 27 points against Ball State to put his average at 30 points a game for two ourings. Also significant is his .548 field goal percentage. Ably supporting Schrier are Coach C;rf Luther's starting guards. John Bunnell ami Joe Lawlor, who carry 16.5 and 12.3 averages, respectively. As a team the Tigers are hitting .442 from the field. Saturday’s rivals have been go- ; ng at it for 52 years, with DePauw taking the first nine contests from 1904 to 1912. Since 1912 they have played all even, and the Tigers lead in the series, 24 wins to 15.
